Clarence G. Gahr, Representative of Margibi County District 5, has successfully delivered on a key campaign promise made during his 2017 election bid by procuring two earth-moving machines; a bulldozer and a motor grader for use by the district.
This milestone underscores his commitment to infrastructure development in the district, particularly aiding farm-to-market road construction.
The pledge to acquire the equipment dates back to 2017, when Rep. Gahr vowed to invest in “yellow machines” to improve road networks across the district.
However, during the 2023 elections, he faced heavy criticism from residents and non-residents alike for allegedly failing to fulfill this promise.
Former staffers publicly accused him of neglecting his commitment, using social media and radio platforms to voice their dissatisfaction.
Last week, social media was flooded with praise from Margibians after news broke up that Rep. Gahr acquired machines for the district.
Nelson Tamba Walker, a staffer in Gahr’s office, highlighted their intended use for constructing and improving vital roads such as the Kakata-Worhn road and the Blumu-Yanqullie corridor.
Walker described this achievement as a testament to Gahr’s dedication to district development and infrastructure enhancement.
Walker expressed gratitude for the lawmaker’s leadership, stating, “A huge benefit for continuity in leadership has been achieved. Thank you so very kindly leader; may God bless your leadership” he expressed.
Rep. Gahr’s fulfillment of this promise marks a significant step in addressing infrastructure challenges in Margibi County and demonstrates his commitment to advancing the district’s development for future generations.
The acquisition of the machines has sparked widespread commendation among constituents.
Meanwhile, plans are underway for the Lawmaker to unveil the two new machines to the people of district 5 and Margibi County at large.
