With 420 places constituting about 57.06% still uncounted by the commission, it has been observed that the leading candidates have started claiming victories with some supporters reportedly conducting pre-victory celebration in different places across Nimba.
The campaign teams of both Edith Gongloe-Weh and Representative Kogar in different media engagements disclosed by that tallies sheets in their respective war-rooms gave them lead that will result into separate victories.
The NEC provisional results validated Kogar claims despite its incapacity to declare a winner with more polling places to be counted in the soonest possible time.
Currently the variance between the two candidates from the tallied centers stands at 128 votes. The argument of strong whole of the contending candidates remains a living debate with the commission notes specifying the particular areas that are already tallied.
With the NEC release provisional results, it’s yet too close a data to call for an assumptive victory in any candidate’s favor. However, what remains certain is that Nimba County has spoken and a senator is poised to be named by NEC in the next few hours.
