The Liberian National Police (LNP) has opened the book of condolence for Alexander Saye at its headquarters in Monrovia.
The lifeless body of the (PSU) Regional Director assigned in Grand Gedeh County, Saye who served the LNP for over 14 years as a tactically trained and disciplined riot control and senior commanding officer having served in the Police Support Unit (PSU), the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and the Patrol Division of the Liberia National Police was discovered with bullet wounds on November 7, 2020.
Following reports that Saye was either killed or that he mistakenly shot himself, the authorities of the LNP launched an investigation into the incident.
Speaking at the opening of the book of condolence, Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue expressed frustration over the circumstances surrounding the death of officer Saye and promised the police cooperation in the ongoing investigation.
He furthered described the officer’s death as untimely and unexpected recounting his numerous contributions to the Police.
Meanwhile, the family spokesperson, John Saye, is requesting the Police to transfer the case involving their son from Grand Gedeh County to another county to avoid political influence in the matter.
At the same time, the family praised the police role in their brother’s death and urged that justice should be served after the burial.
