Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Overseer Jailed For Fraud

By Precious D. Freeman

The Overseer of the Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Center in the Baptist Seminary Community has been arrested for allegedly duping 90 Liberians.

According to the report, Emmanuel Nimely, the Religious Advisor to former President George Weah, was arrested, handcuffed while on his way to service at the Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Center on June 2 and have spent his first night behind bars.

Rev. Nimely reportedly used his relationship with the past government to dupe his victims of some huge cash; mesmerizing them that he could secure travelling opportunities for them to participate in some life-changing programs in Australia in order to seek greener pastures.

Many of the victims alleged that Rev. Nimely received at least US$ 700, US$1,000, US$1,500 and US$2,000 respectively from each of them for visa processing to Australia which was never done.

Interviewing some of the victims at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP) yesterday, they mentioned that Rev. Nimely encouraged them about a traveling program to Australia that is under his control.

According to them, they did not doubt his saying because of the Advisor he was to the former President and also the sacred title he holds.

Speaking further, they emphasized that even though it was not easy to get the huge amount he requested for, they managed to get it because they all wanted to travel in order to be able hustle to cater to their family.

They explained that Rev. Nimely collected the huge amount from them since August 2023 at the Forky Klon Church where he had his office, yet they have not been able to travel up till now.

Some of them even attested that after certain time when they engaged him on their travelling process, he made an agreement of refunding their money, but he never lived by his promise.

The victims alleged that once upon a time, he left the country for a very long time to Nigeria and other countries without giving back their money, and that they all planned that whenever he comes back, they would inform the police and he will be arrested immediately.

“It is very saddened to be a spiritual advisor with such a dubious character; what is the world really turning into,” the victims mourned.

However, they are appealing to the general public, well-meaning Liberians, CSOs among others, to help them probe into the matter in order for them to receive all of what was taken from them, adding that they all are struggling to survive.

Meanwhile, Rev. Nimely has been transferred to the headquarters of the Liberia National Police for further investigation on the issue.

The former Maritime Commissioner General, Eugene Nagbe, who was the campaign chairperson during the 2023 presidential elections was also seen at the police headquarters trying to inquire what the issue was about.
