WAEC Withholds Catholic School Examination Results In Nimba

By Solomon T. Gaye Sr

According to recent reports, the West African Examination Council has withheld St. Lawrence Catholic Senior High School’s national examination results in Ganta, Nimba County.

Speaking on the issue, concerned resident, Mary Korpea, explained that administrations working with the Catholic school withheld the 12th graders’ national examination results, without the knowledge of the Ministry of Education in the county.

Speaking on the same issue, another resident, Old Man Wilson Paye, said the delay by the school to release the results to the students is worrisome and creating serious concerns among the residents in the district.

“Delay is not good in anything. The school administration is collecting LS$11,000 for graduation fee in the absence of WAEC results,” Old Man Paye disclosed.

In separate remarks, Samuel Saye added that nobody knows what is going on with the national examination results at St. Lawrence School here in Ganta.

When this paper contacted the school in Ganta, Principal Stephen Wamah disclosed to this paper that the school sent 106 12th graders for the government examination.

According to Wamah, WAEC withheld Geography, Chemistry, Math, and History results.
