The Media Manager of Liberia Football Association First Division outfit, Discoveries Sports Academy (DSA), Mac Eric Garmonyou Freeman has clarified that the recent player transfer agreement between DSA and Fassell Football Club is not a deal for collaboration but a legal transfer deal.
In recent time, rumors of a collaborating partnership filed local media suggesting that the management of both Discoveries and Fassell had entered into an agreement to collaborate in the second phase of the national first division league and further beyond.
According to the report, the agreement covered players transfer and other keen administrative issues that were contrary to the status of the Liberian league and were potential to undermining the game and violating guidelines of both the local football association, the Confederation of African Football and the Federation of International Football Association.
Reacting to these termed as rumors by DSA media department, manager Freeman explained that every club in whatever football league is protected by laws of the game to buy and sell players to other counterparts desirous of their signature.
“It is against the league to have collaboration with a club in the same competition. So, we do not have anything of such as reported in the media recently. Like others clubs, we sold a player to FC Fassell and we will have a replacement because that is not a problem,” he said.
More besides, he stated that when a player gets interested in moving to another, it is upon the management of his current club to work on request and other agreements so that the player can move and continue their career smoothly without any hindrance.
In the case of a recent transfer deal finalization between DSA and FC Fassell, Freeman intimated that the management of their sister side requested the signature of Franklin Vambo for the rest of the season and the player decided to move to Fassell so the management team accepted the deal and begun receiving the payment which is at U$6,000.00
He said DSA as a team thriving to grow youngster for professional football in the nearest future is not interested in selling their players to local clubs but was under strenuous situation to close the deal for Vambo late Friday night because of his sole desire to leave.
The team media manager encouraged its fans and other stakeholders to remain calm in supporting the work of the team and its management so that other young talents can be introduced to the squad going forward.
