The National Association of Foreign Exchange Bureau of Liberia (NAFEBOL) has distributed some assorted coronavirus preventive materials to members as means of buttressing government’s fight against the virus in the country.
The COVID-19 assorted items included over 210 facemasks and hand sanitizers among others worth approximately US$5,000.
Presenting the masks to its first beneficiaries in Monrovia, NAFEBOL’s president, Nimely Sayeh stated that the presentation of the COVID-19 preventive materials is his institution’s way of identifying with its members during these difficult times.
According to him, the need for his members to be protected and abide by the prescribed health protocols cannot be overemphasized owing to the fact they are exposed to contracting the virus when transacting business with the general public.
He added that the distribution process targets over 30, 000 members from across the country and that Montserrado being the most affected, about 15,000 of NAFEBOL’s members will benefit.
Mr. Nimely further disclosed that his institution plans of acquiring umbrella for its members selling along the streets amidst the raining season, while at the same time called on other well-meaning Liberians and philanthropists to join the government against the pandemic.
Receiving his portion of the preventive materials, the Operational Manager of the First Liberian Forex Bureau, Theah J. Bleh, thanked the leadership of NAFEBOL for its farsightedness in making sure their members are safe and protected during the time of plagues.
He however vowed to ensure that the items received will be used for its internal purpose, assuring, “because we are at high risk of contracting this virus, I will ensure that any customer coming in this bureau to transact business will be sanitized with facemask wore properly.”
