Suspect Bill Jallah, 38, was remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison after being formally charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, and aggravated assault in connection with the brutal stabbing death of his girlfriend, Princess Zuo, on December 21, 2024.
According to the police charge sheet, Jallah stabbed Zuo multiple times in the chest and back after tension escalated.
Zuo, who worked in Congo Town, was then rushed to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The tragic incident occurred near the Fast Nikel Entertainment Center in Joe Bar, Paynesville, following an argument between the couple as investigation revealed that tension between Jallah and Zuo had been building for days.
On December 20, Zuo reportedly went out with friends, which angered Jallah after she allegedly ignored his repeated calls.
The next day, Jallah confronted her at her workplace, leading Zuo to call his father, William Jallah, to report his behavior.
“Victim Princess Zuo phoned Mr. William Jallah, the father of defendant Bill Jallah, and informed him about Bill’s attitude at her workplace,” the police report stated.
Following the complaint, Jallah’s sister, Kormassa Jallah, was informed and later joined the couple at the Fast Nikel Entertainment Center to mediate.
At the entertainment center, Jallah reportedly bought drinks for the group, but tension resurfaced as he accused Zuo of disrespecting him by going out without his permission and refusing to answer his calls.
The argument intensified, prompting Zuo to leave the venue and head towards Duport Junction. Kormassa followed her, attempting to calm the situation.
However, Jallah pursued them and, in a fist of rage, he allegedly attacked Zuo with a knife, delivering fatal wounds.
Witnesses at the scene immediately alerted the police and Jallah was arrested shortly after the attack, and investigators corroborated the events through witness testimonies, physical evidence, and the nature of Zuo’s injuries.
The charge sheet revealed that family members had previously intervened in the troubled relationship but were unsuccessful in resolving the ongoing conflict.
Jallah has been remanded pending court proceedings.
The case has drawn widespread attention, highlighting concerns over intimate partner violence in Liberia.
