LNBA To Host Internatiaonal Conference

The Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) is expected to host its Annual Conference of the African Bar Association in Liberia on October 21 this year.
Speaking at the press conference, the president of the African Bar Association Hannibal Uwaifo said, Liberia after Western working progress is being done as long as democracy continues to flourish, people are allowed to write their views and the government is able to make amendments.
According to the African Bar President, all Bar Associations in accordance here, promotes equity Justice and do their Jobs. The African Bar is here; African Lawyers and businessmen will be here in their large numbers to celebrate on the future of the continent and to provide solutions to the very issues that deliver us daily.
“I also want to thank you to continue to listen through the people and make laws that make progress; Liberia is now trying to respond as one of the oldest countries in the continent and if we continue to look upon Liberia to lead Africa, then it’s alright to Liberty and Economic prosperity,” Uwaifo added.
“To travel to Liberia from the very near country, I see it difficult; we have to look at issues on human right abuses,” he stated.
He also said that the government of Egypt needs help and the African Bar together with the LNBA and other colleagues coming to Liberia to find solutions.
Meanwhile, the Liberian National Bar Association had agreed to host a regional training conference for members of the military and security forces on the rules of engagement during asymmetrical conflicts, with a strong emphasis on the protection of the rights of civilians.
The president of the Liberian Bar Association Taiwan Gongloe said ,the purpose of the visit of the African Bar Association was to Request the LNBA to host the 2019 Annual conference of the
African Bar Association in Monrovia from October 21, 2019 to October 24, 2019.
Gongloe explained that due to the denial of visas to a majority of the delegates and resource persons by the Egyptian Immigration Service coupled with the ongoing massive human rights violation in Egypt, the Government Council of the African Bar Association took decision to change the venue of the conference from Cairo to Monrovia.
Gongloe further explained that the LNBA has resource constraints, the National Executive Council of the LNBA has unanimously accepted the request of the African Bar Association to host the 2019 Annual conference of the AFBA, because it considers the request of the AFBA to hold such a high level continental conference in Liberia as an honor and a rare opportunity that the LNBA should not miss.
The LNBA sees the holding of an international conference of this nature as an expression of confidence in the government and people of Liberia to support such efforts and as an opportunity for promoting the tourism secure the Liberian economy.
“As the delegation departs Liberia today, we call on all members of the Liberian National Bar Association, the Liberian Government, the United Nations, the United States Embassy through USAID, the European Union, the civil society organizations and other partners of the LNBA to support the LNBA to successfully host the 2019 Annual conference of the African Bar Association,” LNBA President expressed.
