Fire Guts LP Gas Station Offices

Fire burned down the offices of the LP Gas Station on Carey and Lynch Street Intersection in Monrovia yesterday.
According to bystanders and some personnel of the gas station, the fire started from the roof of the main building before spreading to one of the tanks storing the petroleum products thus leading to the outburst.
Many believed that the fire outbreak was as a result of electrical shock-circuit even though it was not mentioned by the fire fighters. Our reporter who rushed on the scene saw the Liberia Petroleum and Refinery Corporation fire team making frantic efforts to extinguish the fire which had then gutted the entire roof of the building.
Employees of the LP Business also joined the LPRC fire fighters to ensure that the fire did not reach the gas storage pumps and tanks because by that there would have been an extension in loss of other surrounding properties

“We lost everything to the fire, and this is the first time we have experienced this incident at this facility. We did not know nor had a sense of fire outbreak in the building until hours later when one of us sent out the alarm, alerting us of the fire,” an LP authority stated.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Liberia National Police were seen orderly providing protection so as to avoid intruders from the already crowded scene even though empathy was shown on the faces of most of the eyewitnesses.
