Dillon Names Campaign Team

With barely 20 days for campaign activities of the much talked about December 8 Special Senatorial Election, Monsterrado County Senator, Abraham Darious Dillon has officially named his campaign team with Martin Saye Kollah as Campaign Manager/Coordinator, with Ulysses Barchue as deputy.

Also on the team are former, Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Abel Plackie as head of Press and Public Affairs, while Kla Edward Toomey, Patrick Honnah and former ruling Unity Party (UP) Secretary General, Mohammed Ali, all forming part of the campaign communication team.

Making the disclosure yesterday at his Liberty Party (LP) headquarter in Congo Town, Sen. Dillon reiterated that the pending Senatorial Election is not about him (Sen. Dillon) or any member of the opposition political party but instead the ordinary people, and as such, his campaign team remains open to all for proper coordination, transparency and accountability despite not mentioned.

According to him, he was obliged to receive the money raised by the friends of Dillon in Liberia, the Diaspora, Europe including Prophet Key and his supporters who he said has already raised around US$2,000 to support his reelection, stressing that said support clearly speaks to the level of work he has done in the Senate within a year’s span.

 He added, “This campaign team is for all of us and we will do it more and even better together in order to keep the hope of our country. We cannot afford to let you down because bigger things are coming and together, we can achieve greater things.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Dillon has also named Joseph N. Boakai of the (UP), Sen. Nyonblee K. Lawrence (LP); Alexander B. Cummings (ANC) and Benoni W. Urey (ALP) who are all members of the four Opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) as his campaign advisors, who he said are entitled to and would play the advisory role to ensuring his victory be in December 8.

  He further named Musa H. Bility as head of his Campaign team strategy, followed by Henry P. Costa, Stephen Johnson and Christiana B. Marshall, all members, adding, “Wedei Powell, Precilia Cooper, Telia Urey and Georgia L. Tulay are all heading the budget and Finance team.”

The Montserrado County incumbent Senator averred, “The team will also include the 17 Districts campaign Managers (5 persons to manage each district, the 17 CPP Districts Campaign chairpersons and the CPP Districts structures including Representatives and Stakeholders from CPP parties with 10 persons from each parties will also serve as members on the team.”
