The Liberia National Police (LNP) has disclosed the arrest and detention of Darius Deamah, a suspected notorious criminal in Ganta Bain-Garr District in Nimba County.
According to the Criminal Service Department (CSD), suspect Deamah, 39, has been among several notorious criminals wanted by the Police for various crimes committed across the country.
Police told this paper over the weekend in Ganta that suspect Deamah allegedly stole four motorcycles in Ganta on December 17, 2020 and had since been at large. The CSD officer added that suspect Deamah has been in the constant habit of putting dangerous drugs in liquors at entertainment centers while having drinks with friends in order to steal from them.
Police CSD Preston Gonpue named Josephus Menyen, 21 and the Youth Academy Senior High School Registrar, Kou T. Konah as victims of suspect Deamah’s alleged action.
The Police explained how the suspect’s family resides in Ganta while he lives around the pipeline belt in one of the criminal hideouts in Monrovia.
The Chief of the CSD explained that suspect Deamah has been charged with robbery, theft of property and is expected to appear before the court for prosecution soon.
Suspect Deamah has denied all the allegations levied against him stating that he is a law abiding citizen and not a notorious criminal and knows nothing about stealing of motorbikes or using drugs in liquor to steal as alleged by the Police.
He however admitted having friends who live within the criminal hideouts in Monrovia but, denied having knowledge that the men were criminals.
