The World Bank Country Manager, Georgia A. Wallen, on May 9, 2024, received in audience, executives of the Bureau of State Enterprises, headed by its Director General, Arthur S Massaquoi, at her German Embassy office in oldest Congo Town, Monrovia.
She extolled the Boakai-led Administration for the political will of the BSE in carrying out its statutory mandate.
She expressed her Bank’s unflinching support and promised to connect the Bureau of State Enterprises (BSE) with other international partners to ensure it achieves its objective of curbing wastes and leakages in State-owned Enterprises.
Madam Wallen indicated that the BSE should be seen in the eyes of the public as a champion for corporate governance and guidance for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Liberia.
She later presented a gift to Director General Arthur S Massaquoi for his invaluable services to the BSE and the nation.
In response, Director Massaquoi thanked the World Bank for its support and promised that the BSE will exert all efforts in working with the World Bank and other international partners to ensure transparency and accountability across all State-Owned Enterprises.
Massaquoi stressed the need for technical support for the enhancement of the Bureau’s operations.
Other executives accompanying the Director General included Roosevelt Forh, Deputy Director General for Operations; Varlee Sarnor, Deputy Director General for Administration, and Counsellor Samuel Pearson, Legal Consultant.
