“Take Setback As Motivation To Work Harder”…Watanga CEO Asserts After Falling To Malian Club

The Chief Executive Officer of Watanga Football Club Andy Quamie has launched a motivational quest for supporters of the club to work harder preparing for future battles.

Days after the former Liberia Football Association National First Division League Champions lost 3-1 to Stade De Malian in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday August 20, 2023 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, the CEO share an official statement with the general supporters of the to use their defeat as a motivation to work more on the team and football circle of the country.

According to Quamie, success and achievement or strength is not measured by number of wins gotten in a sporting journey but by the inheritance or encountering of challenges to overcome along the way.

“Remember, true strength is not measured by how we respond when we win, but rather how we bounce back after a defeat. It is during these challenging moments that our character truly shines through. It’s important to acknowledge our mistakes, learn from them, and use them as fuel to drive us forward,” he urged.

He said though the result of the match did not go in the favor of the team which led everyone connected to them frustrated,  he also want them remember that setbacks are inevitable part of every journey, but not a full measure of the ability of the club.

The Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports intimated that it is during the challenging moments of the team that the character of supporters and stakeholders truly shine because of the important to acknowledge mistakes learned.

He said, “It’s important to acknowledge our mistakes, learn from them, and use them as fuel to drive us forward.

Believe in yourselves and in each other. We have come so far together, and this loss is just a small part of our overall journey.”

Andy Quamie then called on supporters to see the level of effort they have place in the team as investments and regroup with focus mind set embracing positivity for Watanga.

“It’s essential to maintain a positive mindset. Embrace this defeat as an opportunity for personal and collective growth. We win as a team, and we lose as a team. Let’s rally together, support one another, and lift each other up. We are a family, and we are stronger together,” he said.
