The Supreme Court of Liberia is expected to convene a national conference for the Judiciary beginning Monday, June 7 to Friday, June 11 at the Ministerial Complex in Monrovia.
The Director of Communications at the Judiciary, Ambrose Nmah, told the Ministry of information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) press briefing yesterday that the intent of the gathering is to discuss the laws, public policies and the economy.
Nmah stated, among many things, that this will be the second of such conference as the first was held during the tenure of the late Chief Justice Johnny N. Lewis in 2011.
He indicated as well that the issue of land or policy will also be discussed during the one week conference.
Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is also expected to hold a national conference on climate change and the environment beginning Wednesday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5, 2021 in Monrovia.
According to EPA’s Director, Wilson K. Tarpeh, the conference will bring together both local and international community and will discuss key issues on the environment and climate change which is having an impact globally.
He told a news conference yesterday in Monrovia that President George Weah, foreign diplomats, heads of missions among others are expected to grace the conference which will be held at the Ministerial Complex.
Before then, Tarpeh said there will be a youth conference which will run from Monday, May 31 to Tuesday, June 1 respectively. “Young people below 35 years constitute over 70 percent of our population, therefore, the need for them to be part of these kinds of things cannot be overemphasized,” Minister Tarpeh stated.

He said the outlines are the nerves for peace and security of the country therefore the need to taking a serious look at these is paramount in the eyes of the judiciary branch of government.
Mahn stated among many things that this will be the second of such conference as the first was during the tenure of the late Chief Justice Johnny N. Lewis in 2011.
He indicated as well that the issue of land issue or policy will also be discussed during the one week conference.
