Bomi County’s Senator-elect, Edwin Melvin Snowe, hosted the newly elected senators during the recent midterm Senatorial Election in his constituent.
Amongst them were independent candidates, opposition and the governing party senators including Abraham Darius Dillon of Montserrado County of both the Liberty Party and Collaborating Political Parties; Wellington Geevon Smith of Rivercess County and an Independent Candidate; Jonathan “Boye Charles” Sogbie of Rivergee County of both the Unity Party and Collaborating Political Parties, and Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence of Grand Bassa County of both the Liberty Party and Collaborating Political Parties.
Others were Brownie Jeffery Samukai of Lofa County of both the Unity Party and Collaborating Political Parties; Emmanuel Zoe Pennue of Grand Gedeh County and the governing Coalition for Democratic Change as well as old hand Senator Conmany Best Wesseh of both the Unity Party and the Collaborating Political Parties.
Speaking during the huge turnout to welcome them in Klay District on Wednesday, December 23, Snowe said he is ready to work with those who are willing to work along with him for the betterment of the country.
He stated further that for those who are not ready or willing to work with him, a checkpoint will be erected definitely for them. He then paid tribute to the people of Bomi County for electing him during the midterm poll which was highly contested.
“Klay is an important district in Bomi County though it is a stronghold of my opponent, but it gave me enough votes. Fortunately for me, I found myself in the majority bloc in the Senate where we are expected to do our best,” he noted.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Senator Dillon thanked the people of Bomi County for electing Snowe as their Senator and said that they are going to be Senators for 9 years every day because they will not allow Liberia to be the same again.
“Your energy, resources and sweat will not be allowed to go in vain therefore, we will do our best always in the interest of the country and its people,” he stated.
