The office of Senator Jeremiah Koung has denied report circulating on social media over the alleged denial of the Nimba lawmaker, Koung’s visa to travel to USA.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Koung on the Voice of Gompa News Magazine, an office staff, Edwin Kordeh, disclosed that report on the social media circulating that US embassy denied Senator Koung visa is false, misleading, and designed by the CDC-led government to tarnish the reputation of the UP vice standard bearer.
According to Kordeh, Senator Koung diplomatic passport expired on May 21, 2023, and is expected to be renewed any time before traveling out of the country. .
“I want to officially informed all residents in Nimba that information regarding US embassy denying Senator Koung’s visa to travel to United States is a black lied designed by detractors who are partisans of the ruling the CDC,” Kordehn clarified.
Since the beginning of May 20, 2023, rumors been circulating in the nine electoral districts in the county that senator Koung was denied US Visa by the US Embassy closed to Monrovia.
According to a post on Facebook, the poster stated that the US Embassy refusal to grant Koung a US visa stems from his political relationship with Senator Prince Yormie Johnson who is on record by the US government of an alleged corruptions.
Speaking to the issue, the office staff pointed accusing fingers at the county’s administration for misleading the public with false information designed to create confusion among partisan of UP and the CDC respectively.
Kordehn boasted that plans are underway for Ambassador Boakai, Senator Koung, Senator Johnson and prominent partisans of UP and the MDR to visit the county for the official presentation of Sen. Koung to the people of Nimba.
When this paper contacted CDC Nimba County party chairman Reginald Mehn via mobile phone, he denied allegation levied against CDC by Senator Koung indicating that the information was misleading and a diabolical lied designed to gain favor from the citizens to win the October 10, 2023, presidential and representative election in the country.
“CDC party is well organized, law abiding and will win the pending 2023 presidential and representative election by all means, chairman Mehn noted.
