Rep. Nyumalin Frowns At
Presidential Appointments In Lofa
…Says Vote-Bank Secure For Boakai

Lofa District 1 Representative, Francis S. Nyumalin, says, President George Manneh Weah has appointed ‘babies’ as Statutory Superintendents in Lofa County to govern chiefs and elders.
Rep. Nyumalin said though the 11 Administrative district leaders appointed by the President are citizens of the county, he indicated that they are not up to the tasks to head that traditional county.
Appearing on OK FM Morning Rush yesterday, Representative Nyumalin said, “The people that were appointed by Mr. President cannot represent the people of the county.”
Giving an analogy to depict the purpose for which the Liberian leader appointed those he referred to as ‘babies’, he said like during the civil war, babies were given elders’ positions like what is happening in Lofa now and its only aim is that ‘kids’ show disrespect to their elders.
Nyumalin said today, there is lingering news that the ruling Coalition has taken over Lofa County, and lies and deceptions are the fruits of the babies appointed by President George Weah.
But contrary to the misinformation, Rep. Nyumalin asserted that Lofa banks votes for Lofa County, adding, if the former Vice President was asked to deposit votes as perquisite perhaps to qualify a presidential candidate, Lofa County’s votes will be deposited for Joseph Boakai because those are his sure votes.
“Lofa County is made up of what I call bank-votes for Boakai. Those who are spreading lies that CDC has overtaken Lofa; let them wait until 2023 to see the results from each district and the entire county. Lofa cannot be taken from Amb. Joseph Boakai,” he intimated.
He said the CDC-led government marginalized Lofa even to the extent, it refused to construct the road which among other things, was funded by partners during the past regime under President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
However the Representative said all of the pictures trending on social media were borrowed pictures from the Robertfield Highway, but while in speech, Representative Beyan Howard from Zorzor District, call-in to dispel his colleague’s claim, stating that government has started the asphalt pavement on the road beginning from Bong County contrary to Rep. Nyumalin’s claims.
Rep. Howard also disagreed with his colleague on air that Lofa County legislative has agreed to boycott the imminent Nation’s address- citing that the county disagreement with government is due to denial of Brownie Samukai-senator-elect to take his seat.
