Police in Karnplay City, Nimba County, have arrested two women on allegation of being wives of a man who is wanted by the magisterial county in that city.
The 24-year-old pregnant woman, Linda Teaton, and her mate, 26-year-old Irene Dahn, who were seen in hand cuffs at the Karnplay Police Station, explained that residents of the town accused them of passing information to their husband to escape arrest.
According to the pregnant woman, she and her mate were handcuffed by the police and put on motorbike for over three hours before arriving at the police station to answer to the whereabouts of their husband.
“My people, please remove the handcuffs from my hands, I am very hungry and weak,” the pregnant lady said in tears.
Speaking in separate remarks, Irene Dahn denied revealing information to their husband to escape, as alleged by the complaint to the police.
“The town turned two of us over to the police to handcuff us on ground that we are house wives to the defendants,” the ladies revealed.
“We were handcuffed because of us being the wives of the defendant, but we don’t know anything about the case,” Linda lamented.
“We don’t have anybody big working in the government to talk for us. How can you transfer a crime our husband committed on us?” the pregnant lady and her mate lamented.
Speaking to this paper, the complainant thanked the police for the arrest of the women and called on them to keep the women in custody until their husband reports himself to the police.
“Police should keep two of them here until Tarkpor that threatened to killed me comes,” the complainant said.
Following the intervention of our reporter in the case, the police station saw reasons to uncuff the women, but promised to keep them until their husband shows up at the police.
