On Second Division Debut Wologizi FC Victorious

Lofa County based newly promoted Liberia Football Association (LFA) Second Division side, Wologizi FC, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, began the LFA Second Division Trophy chase with a 1-0 victory against Black Man Warriors, at the Tusa Field Sports Pitch in Gardnersville.

Jeremiah Johnson scored the game’s only goal for his side in the 74th minute, with a powerful header from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Coach Sekou D. Sonie revealed that his side’s 1-0 win against Black Man Warriors is a victory that was certain, based on the intensive training his team carried on before the game, and assured the fans of more victories to come, as the league advances.

“Our victory against Black Man Warriors was certain, because of the level of training and the level of motivation from our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Momo T. Cyrus; we knew that we were going to win against our opponents, which has come to reality, even though technically, my players lost some accurate passes and tactically we lost some unmarked players, but I can assure our fans that we are going back to our drawing board to put our house in order for our next game,” Sonie asserted.

He called on his athletes to now focus their undivided attention on their training, as they continue their preparations for their next game on September 17, 2023, against Sinoe NPA in Greenville City, Sinoe County, but expressed that his side’s win against their opponents is a clear manifestation of their determination to finish the league at the top.

“Our victory today sent a clear message that Wologizi FC is not just a participant in the league, but a serious contender for the championship, because Black Man Warriors that we just defeated are not just one of strongest teams but one of the old hands in the Second Division League, and so we are taking part in this league with the hope of qualifying for the LFA first division stage, and we are not going to leave any stone unturned until our dream comes to reality,” the coach added.
