Liberian Muslims have been urged to emulate the good examples of Ibrahim (Abraham) who was to have sacrificed his son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command by living and doing in accordance with the Holy Book of the Koran.
Speaking on last Friday during the celebration of Eid al-Adha or ‘Feast of the Sacrifice’ in honor of the willingness of Ibrahim to obey God’s command, Grand Mufti of Liberia, Shiekh Abubakar Sumaworo said among many things that Muslims must always remain committed to their faith and belief.
Grand Mufti Sumaworo admonished Muslims to unite by helping one another because it does not help the community as well as individuals if they are divided and frowned at those who are bent on sowing seeds of discord thereby referring to them ‘VIRUS’ and preached that such attitude must not be accepted.
“It is time for Muslims to care for each other including sharing as one family, one community and one body for that matter because Islam does not call for division but united front,” the Grand Mufti noted.
He reminded the community to continue observing the health measures put into place by the government for the prevention and defeat of the coronavirus in Liberia.
