M-FOTUM Signs Partnership With OkadaMotto

The Merged Federation of Motorcycles and Tricycles Union of Liberia (M-FOMTUL) and a motor ride commerce entity OkadaMotto Liberia have signed a five-year boosting partnership aimed at several opportunities for the cycle transport sector of the country.
The partnership signed in Monrovia, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, is set to place many Liberians involved into motor transport activities on a professional scale of operations in order to have a well-structured and organized working plan.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the chief executive officer of Okadamotto, Mohammed Sumaila, expressed his company’s willingness to assist the Liberian transport sector with improved service delivery and other programs which will benefit the riders, the passengers and the country at large.
Overviewing the partnership from the angle of the foreign established motor company, Sumaila intimated that the Okadamotto family will provide structural jobs for Liberians and effect sustainability frameworks mechanisms throughout the five years term for local cyclists.
According to him, the dream and aspiration of the partnership aim to further enhance professionalism in motor and tricycle transportation around the country by building the capacity of those who find themselves into the sector.
He explained that Liberian riders are observed to be organized in the discharge of their duties by adhering to safety principles to include the wearing of helmets, proper footwear and jackets.
The CEO further intimated that these efforts from the local cyclists will be amended through the newly signed partnership by hosting different capacity building programs.
“We have to think about making our sector a better and professional one in serving our country and Africa. Okadamotto will hold different trainings to build the capacity of our riders and maintain their security and safety at all times on the job,” Sumaila said.
The businessman however, encouraged Liberians to work with the Okadamotto mobile app that presents huge entrepreneurship prospect, putting in line tax adherence, savings, revenue control and life-span retirement benefits, among others.
He added, “We have everything in control to have the sector developed and made better for those involved. The app will make motor and tricycle transportation convenient for Liberia that is already working on many developmental pathways.”
According to him, some of the basic features in the OkadaMotto app include online ride booking, set transportation fares, proper mapping and personal identification elements for security purposes.
For his part, signing for M-FOMTUL, President John Kenyon lauded Okadamotto for joining efforts with his leadership at the cyclist’s federation to have what he termed as a boosting partnership successfully signed.
He projected that there are huge possibilities of members of the motor and tricycle union to become financially influential through using the opportunities in the partnership wisely.
Kenyon expressed joy in the partnership, urging the cyclists as the biggest benefactors to participate in the upcoming capacity building programs for their own lively development.
