The pavement of the 47.1 Kilometer Loguatuo Border Town Road is reportedly in high gear in Gbellay-Geh District in Nimba County.
Speaking to this paper in Karnplay City, Gbellay-Geh District 3, Old man Peter Wehyee, thanked the management of China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG) for the ongoing pavement of the major road.
“We the elders want to take this time to thank the Chinese road building company for their hard work and the rehabilitation of the Loguatuo Border Road in Nimba,” Wehyee disclosed.
Speaking on same issue in Duoplay Town on Loguatuo Highway, James Sayeh explained that the pavement of the road is a welcome news, but government needs to fast-track the payment of the affected properties that fall within the range of the Loguatuo road.
“The people whose property got affected or damaged on the way are still waiting for government to pay for their affected property,” Sayeh lamented.
The work is being carried out in two phases by the Chinese engineers in Karnplay.
From Larpea Two going toward the Loguatuo Border, dozens of road building yellow machines were seen clearing the road while a group of engineers were busy constructing bridges.
The Loguatuo road project, according to the Ministry of Public Works (MPW), is sponsored by the African Development Bank Group, in collaboration with the Liberian Government.
