LISCR Football Club after seizing the moment going atop of the Liberia Football Association National First Division League table is exerting all efforts to remain in the lead with six more games to go.
The Shipping Boys in their 20th league match scored two first-half goals to beat Nimba Kwado FC 2-1 to maintain their lead atop of the Orange first-division league on Monday.
The Shipping Boys took the lead through Christopher Jackson in the 19th minute before Benjamin Doe extended the lead to make it 2-0 in the 28th minute of the match.
Nimba Kwado however reduced the deficit to make it 2-1 in the first half after Prince Nagbo scored for the Ton Pea Boys.
The first-half results were the final score of the day as both clubs could not put the ball at the back in the second 45 minutes of play at the Tusa Sports Pitch.
The win helped LISCR FC maintain their two-point gap at the top of the table after 20 league matches. LISCR FC has 44 points, while Bea Mountain which sits second has 42 points.
Relatedly, LISCR’s striker, Christopher Jackson remains atop of the scoring chart.
Jackson seems to be enjoying a superb season as he scored his 16 league goals of the season to remain atop the Orange first-division league scoring chart.
He continued with his real-hot form and was on target in the Shipping boy’s 2-1 win over Nimba Kwado on Monday at the Tusa Sports pitch.
The striker is regarded as the most prolific scorer in the first-division league in this campaign and his performances have ensured that LISCR FC is atop the table with 44 points from 20 league games.
