The Liberia Electricity Corporation mourns the death of its employee, Gabriel Borbordee who was electrocuted while working on a light-pole on Capital Bye-Pass. Gabriel was taken to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on the afternoon of June 7, 2022.
Prior to Gabriel’s death, the Management had held several meetings with the family of the deceased in an attempt to provide the late Gabriel with the best medical care available.
Based on medical advice, the family and LEC Management concluded that the late Gabriel should be flown to Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, with the full support of LEC on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
It is unfortunate that Gabriel succumbed to the cold hands of death one day before his scheduled departure to Accra, Ghana.
According to the Director of Human Resources, Mr. Borbordee joined the LEC family as an intern in December 2016 and gradually elevated to the position of Supervisor/Capitol FBBU, which position he held at the time of his demise. Gabriel was known by his team members and other colleagues as a very friendly, humble and well-known person, always ready and willing to help others.
The LEC Staff and Management expressed its deepest condolences to Gabriel’s family and his many co-workers.
