Koijee Puts Up Additional US$5,000 Bounty For Cllr. Scott’s Attackers …As Legal Team Threatens Action Against Verdier

Mayor Jefferson Koijee, through his legal team, has put up a US$5,000 bounty for anyone who provides sensitive information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the attacks on the home Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott.
The head of Mayor Koijee’s legal team, Arthur Johnson, said the bounty is in a blank check of US$5,000 to be given to anyone who will provide concrete information leading to the arrest of would-be perpetrator(s) of the attacks on Cllr. Scott.
Addressing a major press conference over the weekend at his Central Monrovia Office, Cllr. Johnson, while displaying the check, stressed that this is in addition to the recent US$5,000 bounty previously announced by the authorities of the Liberia National Police through its Inspector General, Col. Patrick Sudue during a major news conference.
He also indicated that the legal team of Mayor Koijee does not necessarily have to control the bounty if the public so wishes, adding the check can be turned over to the Ministry of Justice or the Liberia National Police for transparency purposes among others.
The top legal personality further stressed that anyone who will come forth with such information, her security and confidentiality will be highly guaranteed and protected.
Cllr. Johnson intimated that Mayor Koijee did not put up a bounty in addition to what the LNP had announced to shield himself from the claims made against him by Cllr. Jerome Verdier and any other Liberian in the country.
But according to him, the bounty is a demonstration of the Monrovia City Mayor’s support to the Police full investigation and ensure that individual(s) involved in the act be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, the legal team of Mayor Koijee, Cllr. Arthur Johnson has announced a lawsuit against Cllr. Verdier, the accuser of his client.
This follows days after the Chair of the former Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Cllr. Verdier linked the Monrovia City Mayor to an attack on the home of the former Chief Justice.
Cllr. Verdier alleged that Mayor Koijee orchestrated the attack on Cllr. Scott which led to the death of Miss Charloe Musu, who is believed to be the daughter of the former Chief Justice and others injured at her Brewerville City residence.
Cllr. Johnson disclosed that the lawsuit will affect all of his client’s accusers both home and abroad including Cllr. Verdier.
The legal team lead told journalists that the lawsuit, when filed against Cllr. Verdier and others, will be made to prove the linkage of the Monrovia City Mayor to the tragedy through the court of competent jurisdiction with substantial evidence.
At the same time, Cllr. Johnson is calling on the Liberian government to conduct an independent autopsy on the body of the late Charloe.
Mayor Koijee’s legal representation also admonished the international community to develop interest in the matter and ensure that an autopsy is conducted to establish if the deceased was tempered with.
