The Inquirer is a leading independent daily newspaper published in Liberia, based in Monrovia. It is privately owned with a "good reputation".

Jeety Continues Humanitarian Gestures

The Indian Consul General, Jeety, has donated a wheel chair to a handicap worth approximately US$125 as part of his initiative to care for the less fortunate or people with disability while also continuing his food distribution in the fight against COVID-19.
Mr. Anthony Jackson who was the beneficiary of Jeety’s latest kind gesture lauded the Indian national for his love and kindness exhibited; wishing him God’s countless blessings to be able to continue helping needy people.
Previously, he extended his food distribution initiative from communities to individuals in street corners, Joint Security Check Points and the Vamuma Conneh Yard in Vai Town, and at the same time revisiting communities where he started his food distribution exercise vowing to continue giving aid to people as long as the coronavirus persists and the State of Emergency continues so as to bring relief to the vulnerable or less fortunate people.
The distribution process had begun for a little over three weeks with several communities, inmates, less fortunate individuals numbering in tens of thousands being served, with more to be reached as the exercise progresses.
Some of the communities served so far in Monrovia and its environs during the previous two weeks include Vai Town, Group of 77 on Newport Street, Buchannan Street, and Mama Point Car Wash Center, Trench Town down Randall Street, Center Street, Slipway Field and Logan Town.
Even before the coronavirus, the name Jeety had become a household name to many Liberians who heard or benefited from his numerous kind gestures and there is no telling that he is going to stop anything soon as he has vowed to keep impacting the lives of poor people as long as he has the capacity to do so.
Well known for his philanthropic work, Jeety has been involved with several distributions individually and as a group; like when he headed the Indian Community donation of some vehicles and other medical items to the 14 Military Hospital in Margibi County recently.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ attention has been drawn to the Public Feeding Initiative being undertaken by Ambassador Sachdeva, commonly known as Jetty.
Foreign Minister Milton Findley said this will strengthen the already cordial relationship between the people of the Republic of India and the people of the Republic of Liberia.
He recalled that over the years, the Consulate General of the Republic of India, Consul Jetty, has been overly instrumental in ensuring that the Republic of India extends concrete bilateral support to the people of Liberia through several donations, including the number of buses provided the Government of Liberia through the National Transit Authority to enable easy access to public transportation across the country.
Minister Findley, on behalf of his Ministry and Liberia is hopeful that other friendly partners will emulate the good example of Jetty, the Consul General of India in Liberia, by reaching out to those in need especially so, in such crisis time when the underprivileged are protocol-bound to stay home which isolates their chances of fending for their daily survival.
