Acting Gbarnga City Mayor Alex Mulbah, says vehicles belonging to the city cooperation is reportedly in ruins.
Mulbah revealed that the lack of vehicles to collect garbage couple with the lack of workers is hampering the smooth running of the Cooperation.
According to GCC’s acting administrator, if the vehicles are repaired, it will help to collect waste from the street and other community outside Gbarnga.
“Acting Mayor Mulbah further stated that, the GCC paid LD 4,000 to commercial drivers per trip to dump dirt at the site,” the acting mayor boasted.
Speaking on behalf of traditional chief elders’ council, Harris Johnson, frowned at the legislative caucus of Bong County who allegedly failed in helping to repair the GCC’s damaged vehicles.
“The alleged failure of the caucus to repair the two damaged vehicles is contributing to the increase of garbage in many of the communities,” the chief elder explained.
“Lack of vehicles to collect garbage is also contributing to the more mosquitoes in many of the communities in Gbarnga,” the elder revealed.
Speaking on behalf of the marketers, Jerryline Kerkulah, said the delay in the appointment of city mayor to steer the affairs of the cooperation is not in the interest of the citizens in the county
“We want to takes this time to appeal to the central government to help the cooperation with trucks to collect garbage and other waste in the city,” Madam Kerkulah boasted.
According to Madam Kerkulah, if nothing is done to repair GCC’s damaged garbage, waste will takes over the entire Gbarnga and the various communities.
