Police Inspector General Patrick Sadue says plan is underway to rename the Ganta Police detail as a zone in order to strengthen the security in the county.
Speaking to team of reporters in Ganta, Sudue said his decision was one of the key issues discussed during the management board meeting held in Nimba with many of the senior Officers of the Liberian National Police.
According to the Police IG, Ganta is among cities in Liberia that is fast growing and needs more law enforcement officers to maintain law and order.
“Ganta needs four Police details with additional officers to work along with the zone Commander to maintain law and order in the district,” Sudue stated but remained tightlipped over date and time to that such decision will take effect.
The Ganta Police Station Commander, Archie Dennis, thanked Sudue for selecting Ganta City and declare Ganta zone in the Republic of Liberia.
In August 2022, the Liberia National Police along with many of the senior officers assigned in Monrovia held a board management meeting in Ganta designed to decentralize LNP operation in the leeward counties.
Nimba contained nine electoral districts, but reports of shortages of state security to maintain law and order in Yarwin Mansonnon, Kparblee, Gbe-Doru is creating serious concern among the local residents in the CDC-led Government in Nimba County.
