The General Auditing Commission (GAC) has honored nine retired employees after fulfilling the requirements for full retirement at an elaborate ceremony held in the GAC’s Conference Room.
The event followed months of coordination with the Human Resource Unit to ensure a smooth transition, during which retirees were provided the necessary information and support regarding their retirement process.
Addressing the gathering, Auditor General Garswa Jackson praised the retirees for their dedicated services to the Commission, emphasizing that their contributions leave a lasting legacy.
Reflecting on the significance of the moment, he remarked: “Retirement ceremonies often evoke mixed emotions, reminding us that some colleagues didn’t have this opportunity due to resignation, dismissal, or untimely death. This is to say, we deeply appreciate your commitment and service to the GAC.”
Representing the honorees, former Corporate IT Manager Henry Nyain expressed gratitude to the GAC and its senior management for the respect and professionalism shown throughout the retirement process.
“We are thankful to have served the GAC and appreciate the thoughtful manner in which this process was handled, which has prepared us to embrace our next chapter,” he said.
The retirees, many of whom had served the Commission for 13 to 15 years, were presented with individual awards recognizing their contributions over the years.
The honorees included Henry L. Nyain; Sylvester G. Guah; J. Momolu Ballie; S. Clifford Kai, Sr.; Francis H. Nyanti; Mardea G. Nelson; Lawrence Morwake; Randolph H. Wilson; and Charles K. Mulbah.
