Freeman Final Hi-Trick Takes DSA To Topflight

The final match day of the Liberia Football Association National Second Division league was a moment of celebration for Discoveries Football Club and its fans across the country when Jonathan Freeman came through with a Hi-trick to qualify the team to the topflight.
The “Legacy Boys” in their last fixture against Junior Profession had single objective and they needed just a draw against their opponents to maintain their spot for promotion to the First Division League.
Their dream of hitting the peak of the Liberia top leagues came to fusion when the team’s captain Jonathan Freeman took the responsibility to carry the qualification cry of the fans by scoring three different goals that were enough to take them through.
In the first quarter of the 90 minutes showpiece, Freeman got the opening goal to refresh the hopes of the team fans at the Two United Sports Association playing pitch the TUSA Field in Gardnerville.
When match officials recorded 23 minutes played in the first half, Discoveries golden boy was again in the goal area of his opponent booking the back of the net setting his team at a comfortable 2-0 win at half time.
In the second half, the match top scorer seals his side crucial win by increasing their tally in 61 minutes. Junior Professional was only able to pull one of the goals back.
The match being the last played at the TUSA field in the just ended Second Division League made it a dream come through for the youth base team.
Discoveries played a single season in the second league after they emerged as the Champions of the promotional Third Division play off in Monrovia at the end of the 2022/2023 league season.
At the playoff crowing ceremony, the team coach Akin Z. Baryogar then promised that his boys were all prepare to make history going to the second division.
He then signaled it as a warning to the teams that were participating in the second league to watch out for the force and impressive performance that Discoveries were bringing to the competition.
He however promised that under his watch as Coach of DSA with the years of experience he had being with the boys from the level of grassroot football to the national league, the people of Gardnerville would have many reasons to celebrate their association with Discoveries Sports Academy.
The debut season of the team appeared to be one of the most interesting football eras for DSA for the fact that they rouse to the occasions after all their matches to stay among the top three.
The lads despite being new to national league football recorded the highest goals scored this season.
They were the only individual club within the first and second division leagues to score a total 80 goals in their first season at that level.
Going to the first division, the best of classical performance is expected from the “Legacy Boys” as they will begin another journey at the topflight against new opponents to include Watanga, LISCR, Paynesville, Bea Mountain and others.
