The Monrovia City Court has order the arrest of former Finance Minister, David Farhat, for the crime of theft of property, Criminal mischief, menacing, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Farhat was sent to the Monrovia City Court by Madam Margret Waiwor for allegedly stealing some items and damaging properties belonging to her with the intent to deprive her from tangible properties while raining insults and making threatening remarks.
The damaged properties which summed up to US$46.74 included 150,000 pes movies, jackets 5 pcs Samsung & L.G phone protector (500ocps) 1000 pcs DVD movies 5pcs DVD mass production machine 2,000 pcs and a movie poster while at the same time uprooting the roofs of the building.
The writ indicated that the alleged act of the defendant being unlawful, illegal wicked, criminal and intentional violate Sections 15.5 and 14.25 of the New Penal Law of Liberia.
“You are hereby commanded to arrest the living body of Mr. David Farhat and bring him before this court to answer to the charges of theft of property, criminal mischief, menacing, harassment and disorderly conduct. Based upon the oat and complaint by Madam Margret Waiwor in which it substantially alleged as follow to wit” Magistrate Jomah S. Jallah noted in the writ.
On Wednesday March 23, 2022, Mr. Farhart was placed on the prisoners’ bench in the City Court but was later released on a criminal appearance bond.
The writ further indicated that between February 7 and the 26, the defendant being there with wicked and criminal intent, convinced and conspired by going on the property of the private prosecutor with violence broke and damaged several items on the property.
The writ furthered that the said defendant in the process stole, took and carried away also several items to include five televisions, 2000pc, phone protector, 900pcs DVD movies, fifty production machine, five cartons DVD Dccks, eight bags of assorted clothes, four pairs of slippers, eleven pairs of sneakers, one 42 inches flat screen television, one Sony stereo sets, two suit cases of clothes, 300 pec buld valves.
The writ continued and named, 11 pec square pipes, 150 pes quarter rod 24, pes square bar and one Bosh cutting machine, all total USD $529.165 thereby amounting to a grand total of US$75.914.
