Chief Justice Francis Korkpor, over the weekend disclosed that three judges assigned at the Gompa Magisterial Court in Nimba County are undergoing probe by the order of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
According to Chief Justice Korkpor, there had been disagreements among the judges which drew the attention of the Supreme Court branch, a situation which is hampering the smooth running of the Gompa Magisterial Court to dispense justice in Nimba County.
Gompa Magisterial Court is controlled by Stipendary Magistrate Yarlor Saywon, along with Associate Judges Owen Freeman and Godfred Swaray.
Since the beginning of 2022, rumors of internal wrangling among the three Judges at the Gompa Magisterial Court had been circulating in the district, but the judges have remained tightlipped over the issue, and this is the second report emanating from the Gompa Magisterial Court in less than three months.
In March 2022, several of the LNP Senior Officers assigned at the Ganta Police Station frowned at the Gompa Magisterial Judges over alleged prolonged detention of detainees at that police station.
In view of the foregoing, Chief Justice Korkpor further disclosed that the outcome of the investigation of the three Judges will be released to the judicial workers assigned at the Gompa Magisterial Court in Nimba County.
