Boakai, Delegation At 2nd IAF In Indonesia

President Joseph Boakai ahead of a five-member official delegation has landed in Bali, Indonesia, to participate in the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) which garners participants from 47 African countries.
According to an Executive Mansion Press Release, the President and delegation arrived on Saturday, August 31, 2024, ahead of the event which is expected to take place at the Mulia Hotel in Bali, Indonesia from September 1-3, 2024.
The forum will be held under the theme: “Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063.”
Participants at this year’s forum are expected, among other key issues to emphasize shared values and principles aimed at establishing enduring and inclusive relations between Indonesia and Africa.
The Forum further seeks to strengthen economic cooperation between Indonesia and African nations, building on the success of the inaugural event in 2018.
The release, adds that “the gathering is not just a platform for dialogue; it endeavors to make tangible contributions to both societies. By bringing together high-level government officials, business leaders, academicians, and other stakeholders from Indonesia and Africa, the forum seeks to foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and lay the groundwork for substantial economic cooperation.”
President Boakai is expected to address the Joint Leaders Session of the forum, sharing stage with other dignitaries including Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, Russell Mmiso Dlamini, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, among several others African leaders.
The Liberian Leader is also scheduled to hold high-level talks with his Indonesian counterpart, outgoing President, Joko Widodo, as well as the incoming President, Prabowo Subianto.
The Liberia leader is expected to engage executives of the Golden Veroleum (GVL) Company, the oil palm Company which operates in Sinoe County, South-eastern Liberia.
The forum will provide opportunity for other members of the delegation to speak at separate sessions and engage key leaders in the areas of agriculture, food security, education, technology and investments.
Meanwhile, the President and delegation are expected to depart Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 for the People’s Republic of China to attend the upcoming forum for China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
