President Joseph Boakai has dedicated a newly renovated Maternal Ward of the Pipeline Community Health Center; a key initiative aimed at improving maternal health outcomes and serving as a model for future healthcare projects across Liberia.
The project was launched on Monday, December 2, 2024, as part of Madam Kartumu Boakai’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and addressing the urgent needs of underserved communities.
President Boakai praised the First Lady and her team for their visionary leadership and dedication, which made the project a reality, and emphasized that maternal health is the cornerstone of a thriving society, directly impacting the well-being of families, communities, and future generations.
“Investing in such facilities ensures safe and quality care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, which is a crucial investment in the nation’s future,” President Boakai remarked.
Madam Kartumu Boakai reaffirmed her commitment to advancing initiatives that enhance the health and well-being of Liberians.
According to her, every mother deserves the dignity and safety of quality healthcare adding that, this renovated ward is a testament to what we can achieve when we prioritize the needs of our communities.
However, the Pipeline Community Health Center, which had not undergone significant upgrades since its post-war renovation in 2006, now boasts state-of-the-art equipment and modern amenities designed to meet the needs of the local population.
During the dedication ceremony, President Boakai and Madam Boakai jointly cut the ribbon to open the facility, marking a significant milestone officially while the event was met with joyous celebrations from the community, who expressed their gratitude for the improved healthcare services.
Following the ribbon-cutting, the President and First Lady toured the renovated facility, which stands as a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of collaboration and determination.
