-Boakai-Conscious Movement Reacts To SONA
“Boakai Presidency Will Rescue Liberia”

A political supportive group of Joseph Nyuma Boakai calling itself, “Boakai Conscious” says, after listening to the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Weah, the group says, SONA offered little hope for the Liberian people. It failed to express ambition in the bright future of Liberia.
As President Weah delivered his last SONA, he failed to significantly report to the Liberian people on the 292 promises he made to the Liberian people and the statutes of those promises as it relates to fulfilling them.
“However, we are aware through a report from NAYMOTE that out of the 292 promises made by this President and his party, only 24 of these promises had been fulfilled over the last five years with just one year left in his regime,” the group stated.
“This represents 8% progress in achievements of what he said he would do. How then can we trust this president with another six years to steer the affairs of our state?” the release paused.
“Judging by this, 8% progress is a big failure and Mr. Weah must go! It is impractical to assume that this President will achieve the remaining 268 promises he made since he has accomplished only 24 of these promises,” the release continued.
“As we look towards gender equality and social inclusion, again, Mr. Weah failed to speak to the work he did as it relates to social inclusion and people living with other forms of disabilities,” the release said.
NAYMOTE report also found that there were limited efforts made by Mr. Weah and his government on promises he made to the physically challenged and senior citizens.
Out of 10 promises made to people living in this sector, the report found that only two of these promises were achieved.
“As President Weah bragged about his staged achievements yesterday, we want to remind him of the many promises he made to our people and the lack of will to fulfil them,” the release said.
“Under your power to the people’s pillar, our research shows that you made 106 promises to the Liberian people but after five years, you have completed just 8 of these promises,” the release stressed.
“Under your second pillar of economy and jobs, you again made 139 promises but again you poorly completed just 13 of these promises and your third pillar of sustaining the peace, you made 14 promises to our people but you achieved just two of these.
“Under your fourth pillar of governance and transparency, you made 27 promises to our people and we wish to remind you that you have not achieved any of those promises,” he said.
“This is very disappointing and disheartening. This is a betrayal of the trust and confidence the people of this country had in you years back. But the RESCUE Mission is here. Amb. Boakai is the answer the Liberian people now seek. We are confident that Amb. Boakai will restore the hopes of the Liberian people through his AREST Agenda,” the release stated.
“On that note, we extend revolutionary solidarity to every Liberian who have been victimized by the disastrous policies and backward leadership concepts which have subjected the mass base of the people into abject poverty, insecurity, poor economy, health, education, agriculture and economic statuses, ritualistic killings with political autopsy reports, witch-haunting, secret killings of political people, money laundering, rampant corruption, coupled with a huge form of intimidation and violence on political activist and media practitioners,” the release went on.
Based on these and many others, “We are cognizant that Mr. Weah is incompetent and a product of bad governance and that he’s not the answer to the many problems we face on a daily basis”.
“We see no fortune in Mr. Weah and his surrogates; those who mimic the people while they’re being exploited and as such, we’ll resist their political quest to achieve power in this country,” the release intimated.
“Lastly, we call on every Liberian to ensure that Mr. Weah is a one term President in the first round because of his enormous inability to govern the country. Mr. Weah has failed beyond all reasonable doubts and should not be given a second chance to lead the Liberian people,” the group stated.
“On that note, we say to you Mr. Weah; this you must know; this is your last State of the Nation’s Address to the Liberian people. We’re going to listen to you as you express your last scope of failures and bad leadership provided to the Liberian people,” the release concluded.
