US$ 1.6 M To Nimba ?

Nimba Representative Roger Domah has reported that about US$ 1. 6 million was released to the county by the Arcelor Mittal Liberia.
Representative Domah explained that the US$ 1.6 million is part of the county’s Social Development Funds which was released into the Government of Liberia’s account.
The District 7 lawmaker further disclosed that continuous confusion among the legislative caucus is hampering the smooth operation of the county in term of developments and also delaying the council sitting.
Arcelor Mittal’s MDA with the government mandates the management to release US$ 1.5 million annually as its social development funds into the county development fund envelope as well as the building of 2, 900 housing units, provide safe drinking water and free health care services, among other things.
Since the company began operation in the county, over 15 year ago, the MDA had not been adhered to including the construction 2,900 housing units, safe drinking water, free health care services, among other things for the by the workers is in limbo.
When this paper contacted Senator Prince Y. Johnson regarding the reported US$ 1.6 million released to the County’s Development Fund, he referred this paper to Representative Domah who made the allegation to explain in detail on ground that he did not know anything about such.
