An Open Letter from Kpakae L. Roberts, To Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, Minister, MOH, Republic of Liberia

Subject: Respond To Your Response Letter Sent To Me Concerning My Appeal To All Health Authorities of MoH and NPHIL on the Coronavirus Republic of Liberia

Dear Dr. Jallah:

I have known for the past 13 years that diet is the single most powerful tool for the treatment of disease. More powerful than drugs, more powerful than surgery, more powerful than anything in the doctor’s bag. I have also been learning, for the past 34 years, all about Liberia’s astounding biodiversity and endemic species of plants, animals, and even insects. Nevertheless, my advocacy is not all about the use of herbs or plant remedies concocted from medicinal plants, as in the form of pharmaceutical, phytochemical or phytomedicine processes as the solution to prevent or treat the Coronavirus.

The incident of the Ebola virus at the time when a Nimbaen Herbalist said he could treat the EVD cannot be compared with the issue of using diet and lifestyle for the prevention and treatment of the coronavirus and all other physical problems. These substances, along with all drugs, only deal with symptoms caused by improper diet and lifestyle.

What I am saying is that almost all physical problems are caused by putting into our body substances that they were never biologically designed to handle, substances that are actually toxic to the body. Just as our automobile will not run properly if the wrong fuel is placed in the gas tank, neither will our bodies function properly if the wrong foods are put into them. Almost all physical problems can be eliminated and perfect health can be maintained by proper diet and lifestyle.

Dr. Jallah, over thirty years ago, I started research on Wildlife (plant, animal and insect species) and Nutraceuticals – foods that are used for their medicinal properties and to study their healing principles. Only about twelve years ago, did I finally learn it after having seen several special patients with degenerative and debilitating diseases or physical problems, experimenting on myself for the past 34 years and reading of several scientific books and articles, specifically on Gerontology, which fascinates me so much and also as science, technology and health reporter and writer (formerly for the New Democrat, and currently for the Inquirer and Daily Observer).

Over the years, I have been taking into serious consideration the “Enzyme Nutrition Axiom” of Dr. Howell and the statement of Hippocrates who once said, “The gods do not send illness to men. Men bring it on themselves. If we take a minute, Dr. Jallah, to stop and analyze this statement, it becomes clear that barring natural catastrophes, man holds the key to his own health in his own hands, and as I previously stated in the President’s letter concerning the Dietary Aid for the coronavirus, cooking kills food and de-natures or re-arranges the molecular structure of nutrients and makes the world and its inhabitants ill.

Doc, my research and experience has taught me and have shown that when we adopt and eat what nature provides for us, it serves us much better if we leave it alone. We must eat what nature gives us as close to ‘as grown’ as possible. I have spent — and I’m still spending — my entire Natural Healing Art Career studying how to be healthy and how to keep patients from falling prey to disease. It has been during these studies that I feel I have found the optimal way of eating for health maintenance, disease prevention and treatment, and weight loss.

When we treat food by cooking, we lose up to 97% of the water soluble vitamins (vitamin B and C) and up to 40% of the lipid soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, and K). We also decrease the absorption of protein when we cook it, and the amino acids coagulate or fuse together and even change the vibration of the atoms. Heating or cooking also changes the lipids from cis, which is a curved form occurring in nature, to trans forms.

Hydrogenated oils, such as margarine, shortenings and many of the other oils that are used in bakery products or to heat fries, are in the trans form. Doctor Jallah, I have learned during my studies and research that these are incorporated into the cell wall and interfere with the respiration of the cell so that we find an increase in cancer and heart disease in those people eating the trans fats.

The medical community has been continually collecting evidence to support what I have learned from Natural Nutrition Scientists have discovered some years ago that: cooked food is harmful to our bodies. That is why I suggested in my Dietary Aid that Raw Fruits and Vegetables recipes would be revealed if am called upon to assist in the prevention and treatment of the coronavirus if it affect people in Liberia.

But as I stated in my open letter to you that I am aware that there is more danger that mature, experienced, eminent doctors or scientists surer of what they know — will pronounce the goals of others as impossible, or as so remote as not to be worth the expenditure of immediate efforts or attention. So is your judgment on my proposal.

In my research and studies of Wildlife Conservation, Wild Animals know what to eat but it has become quite obvious that we do not. We, as humans, could do better to take a lesson from nature’s creatures.
Let’s take for instance, you won’t see a lion eating cooked food, or a leopard dropping his kill of a deer into fire —– even though, fire is made by man —- before eating it.

The king of the beasts and all his underlings eat uncooked food or raw foods and that’s all. Now the answer to the question, “Why I suggest Raw Dietary Aid of Raw Fruits and Vegetables?” Notably, in juice form, the raw foods are preferable because they digest in less time. Less time consuming and less energy consumption when processed by the digestive tract.

Cooked foods are making each individual of our race and the world sick. Only by using raw foods can we make ourselves, our race and the world healthy continually.

Dr. Jallah, I’m therefore sending you two excerpts, one from “The Pottenger cat Experiments on Raw and Cooked Food;” and the other, from “The Great American Rat Experiment: Raw Food Vs. The Cooked, American Diet, for clarity and proof of all I’m saying to you, and to also have an audience with you on these facts.

Thanks for your response, though it’s not favorable, I hope you will see reason in time to consider my research work and suggestion on the Dietary Aid and incorporate it as a preventive and treatment measures if the coronavirus would afflict us over time.
