Joint security assigned at the Ganta border is reporting deplorable road network at the Ganta-Guinea border in Nimba County.
An assigned police officer at the border explained that the road from the Liberian border side of Guinea towards N’ Zerekore has been cut off between Diecke and N ‘ Zerekore in Guinea.
According to the LNP officer, commercial vehicles from N’ Zerekore that were carrying goods had to go back to Guinea.
A Guinean motorcyclist, Sekou Barrie, explained that the road cut off near Diecke Town using the N ‘ Zerekore route.
“The bridge on the creek got damaged due to the heavy down pour of rain few nights ago,” Guinean motorcyclist Barrie revealed.
“Many of the commercial vehicles that were going to Guinea and those that was coming to Liberia are all stranded on both sides of the countries,” Barrie stated.
Since the beginning of last week, cross borders trade couple with the movement of human being has come to a standstill on both sides of the borders.
Richard Mehnpaine confirmed the bad road on the Guinea side of the border towards Ganta, but explained how the Guinean security near Diecke are even passing through Ganta to get to Yekepa in order to enter Guinea towards N ‘ Zerekore.
