The Chief Executive Officer of Jungle Energy Power (JEP), Tomah-Seh Floyd, is recommending to the Government of Liberia to invest in its own source of Electricity in Liberia.
Jungle Energy Power is a Liberian-owned company that provides electricity services in Nimba and Bong Counties, established in 2017 and licensed in 2021 to operate by the Liberia Electricity Cooperation to provide reliable and affordable electricity to customers in those counties.
Speaking to reporters recently in Gbarnga, Floyd expressed serious disappointment in the constant outages of electricity in Liberia.
He said if Liberia is to have stable electricity availability, the government must identify a specific location in Liberia to build a dam that will supply electricity throughout the country.
He further named Waterfalls along the Yarr River and the Kpatawee Waterfalls in Nimba and Bong Counties as ideal areas to undertake such projects, and believes that doing so will help to stabilize the continuous electricity outage in the country.
The Nimba County business tycoon revealed that the constant outages of electricity in Liberia are not good for the business community and those who want to invest in the country, adding that the government should see reason to invest in electricity.
In a related development, Floyd has distanced the Management of Jungle Energy Power from taking responsibility for the constant outages of electricity to its customers in Bong and Nimba Counties.
According to him, the Government of Liberia entered into a bilateral agreement with its Ivorian counterpart for the supply of electricity in Liberia; as such, JEP is only serving as a private operator and should not be blamed for the constant power outages.
