House To Examine Poor Communication Services in River

The Plenary of the House of Representatives has asked its Committee on Post and Telecommunications to establish claims of poor telecommunications services from the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) and MTN Lone Star to residents of River Gee County.

Plenary took the decision Thursday, February 15, 2024 during its 11th Day Sitting, predicated on a complaint from Rep. Johnson N. Williams of Electoral District 3, River Gee County.

Rep. Williams claimed that Lonestar Cell MTN services have been very poor over the past two months, with no information or notifications being provided to thousands of subscribers.

The services include voice calls, SMS messaging, internet data, mobile money transfers, among others.

According to him, many days, the services of Lonestar Cell MTN are off and currently there are no regular services for voice calls, SMS, and the internet for most parts of the day.

The committee was mandated by the full of body of the House of Representatives to review and advise Plenary on the concern raised by Rep. Williams within one week.
