Minister Tweah Indisposed? …As House Declares Him Wanted

By Precious D. Freeman
After hours of searching for the living body of Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel Tweah, to be arrested, the House of Representatives has declared the Minister wanted.
The body took the decision after the Sergeant at Arms, Morris Gibson, reported to Plenary that Minister Tweah could not be found. During their search, Sergeant at Arm Gibson told the Plenary that the Finance Minister could not be found at his office and his residence.
Predicated upon the report made by the Sergeant at Arms, the House took the decision to declare the Minister wanted.
The House’s robust action came as the result of a motion placed on the floor by Lofa County District 1 Representative, Francis Nyumalin.
The House instructed the Sergeant at Arms to immediately arrest and bring the living body of the outgoing Minister when seen anywhere.
The Plenary, which was presided by Deputy Speaker, Fonati Koffa, also mandated the Minister of Justice to aid the Sergeant at Arms by informing all security apparatus across the country to arrest the living body of the Minister.
Minister Tweah has been ordered arrested by the House for repeated unexcused absences before the August Body.
He now becomes the second government official to be placed under arrest under Weah’s administration.
It can be recalled that then Deputy Information Minister, Eugene Fahngon, was also placed under arrest by the House of Representatives some years ago.
