Members of the Logan Town Re-Union (LTRU) based in the United States of America (USA) have completed the payment of scholarship fund they promised to provide for 20 high school students from five high schools in the Logan Town Communities on the Bushrod Island in Monrovia, Liberia.
The five schools which students benefited from LTRU scholarship funds are Elder John Massey, Sylvia Broderick, Joanna Antoe, St. Edward Catholic and St. Matthew Methodist.
Mr. Momolu John Dukuly is the Representative of Logan Town Re-union in Liberia he stressed that the scholarship is a good will gesture from Liberians that once live in the Logan Town communities on the Bushrod Island but now live in the United States of America as their own contribution to help strengthen the learning process of high school students that are attending the community base schools.
Mr. Dukuly voiced that the requirements of the scholarship program are that each students maintains an average grade points of 8o% or above per period or per semester while ensuring that he or she has a good moral conduct throughout the semester and that each of the five schools would send copies of each student grades per marking period to the organization office for monitoring and evaluating purposes.
Said Mr. Dukuly: “Logan Town Reunion-USA guarantees that as long as your students meet the requirements set forth by our scholarship program of 2022/2023 attached, we will provide payments of their tuitions at the start of every academy year however, for the first year of our program, we will make payment of tuitions per semester and evaluate students on a periodic basic for grades and conducts and we will inform you of changes within our programs as determined by our education committee. The organization emphasized.”
He acknowledged that through the leadership of the president prince p. Andrew, former Logan Town resident and partners back home, would like to extend their scholarship program to deserving high school students and high schools within Logan Town because the scholarship is designed to help ease the financial hardship face by family members struggling to pay for their children education and that every academy year, the scholarship is renewable based on set criteria.
Presenting the last semester payment of the scholarship funds to officials of the five schools, Mr. Dukuly thanked officials of the schools and parents of the students for the professional manner in which they all worked in line with their students which he added helped them to score the needed grade points for the scholarship which he described as very encouraging.
He called on the parents of the students to always make sure their children must continue to score the needed grades points if they are to remain on the scholarship program and also thanked the students for working in line with the scholarship program and wished them success as they struggle to maintain their status on the scholarship program.
The schools’ principals paid tributes to members of the Logan Town Re-Union base in the USA for the scholarship opportunity they have established for students of the Logan Town communities and hope that others would follow their good examples.
The principals of St. Edward Catholic High Schools described the scholarship program been provided by members of the organization as timely and called on the beneficiaries to continue to score the necessary grade points if they wish to remain on the scholarship program.
Principal Hamilton k. Teah of Elder John Massey stressed that the scholarship program provided by the Logan Town Re-Union base in the USA as a big boost for the learning process for students that are going to benefit from and it would help to encourage other students to focus their undivided attentions on the lessons.
Joanna Antoe and Sylvia Broderick principals described the scholarship been provided by members of the Logan Re-Union as very encouraging and they hope that students who are to benefit from the scholarship will try their best to score the needed grade points so that they will be able to maintain their status on the scholarship program.
