In the Intra Governmental League currently taking place in Liberia, the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) won the Liberia Water and Sewer Cooperation (LWSC) 2-0 in the their second football fixture on Tuesday April 25, while the Liberia Medicine and Health Product Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) got her second consecutive draw against the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
In the first match considered by officials of the entities as ‘Very entertaining, ‘LiIMA was favored by an attacking force that was capable of restoring celebration after scoring two second half goals to move four points in their group at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia in Monrovia.
The health product regulators from LMHRA also ended goalless in a full time encounter with the male football team from the revenue collecting arm of government. On separate occasions the two side missed chances that were tangibles for collecting all game points.
LiMA Captain Emmanuel Kollie in his celebration after the match noted that the entity first victory in the current edition of the competition was intended to let other entities know that maritime is prepare for the tournament.
According to Kollie the win for the boys against LWSC was a result of constant motivations from officials of the institution because of commitment to public service in all aspect.
With confidence, he said that LiMA is doing everything possible to clinch the Intra Governmental Tournament and make the entity known for excellence in sportsmanship across government ministries and agencies.
“This year we at the Liberia Maritime Authority are ready to do everything making sure we carry this tournament. We are prepared in all aspects when it comes to the game so, let those ahead of us get ready to encounter us,” he asserted.
Describing the competition as an old folk’s tournament, Kollie reposed trust in his teammate to stand on the plan to win the trophy. He lauded the players in the tournament use their skill to interact with others from different entities.
The Intra Governmental Tournament is an annual competition hosted by national government to unite government officials from different entities through sporting disciplines and interaction.
