The University of Liberia Faculty Association has expressed concern over the academic situation at the Nimba University and the welfare of faculty members at the Northern University.
In a release issued on Monday by the institution, ULFA termed as extremely troubling that men and women who have continuously sacrificed to contribute to the human capital development of Liberia will be treated with little regard.
The leadership of ULFA stressed that it stands in solidarity with their colleagues at the Nimba University and the Nimba University Faculty Association.
In the release signed by ULFA’s president, Edna Johnny, the faculty also urged all stakeholders concerned in addressing the impasse at the Nimba University to ensure a timely resolution of the demands of their faculty colleagues.
At the same time, the UL Faculty Association’s boss disclosed that the institution will shortly convene a meeting of all public university’s faculty associations in the country meant to discuss issues affecting the welfare of the various faculties.
Dr. Johnny noted that at the end of the meeting, they will present a working document to the Government of Liberia to ensure that the rights and welfare of university lecturers are safeguarded.
The ULFA leadership further urged colleagues at the Nimba University Faculty Association to remain steadfast and focused in pursuit of their just benefits.
