8th Judicial Circuit Judges Commissioned

Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Youh has commissioned Pape Suah as Resident Judge of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court of Nimba County.

Early last month, the President nominated Cllrs. Suah and Musa S. Sidibey as Resident Circuit Judge and Resident Judge of the Sexual Offenses Division of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court of Nimba County, respectively.

Days after their confirmation by the Liberian Senate, a colorful ceremony was held at the Ground Floor Hall of the Temple of Justice on Capitol Hill, where they were commissioned.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Judge Suah disclosed that as judges, they are aware that the rule of law and access to justice are indispensable to the maintenance of peace and fostering of the nation’s democracy.

“Therefore, in the discharge of our duties under the oath we’ve taken, the law shall be the law, irrespective of the status of a person in the society,” Judge Suah vowed.

Suah, is among many prominent residents of Nimba County who have ascended to being Resident Judges and committed to equal justice under the law, and understand the profound impact that the courts’ decisions have on the lives of the Liberian people.

Judge Suah lauded President Weah for giving them the opportunity to serve as judges of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court, adding that they will dispense justice without fear or favor; consistent with the Constitution of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Chief Justice Youh has cautioned the two judges to act within the confines of the law and dispense justice without fear or favor, noting that they should uphold the rule of law.
