According to Dr. Jallah, there are also 24 active or alive cases, three recoveries and 10 suspected cases in the country.
Making the disclosure yesterday as health updates on ELBC, Dr. Jallah revealed that the additional 17 cases were identified from April 6 to 4:00 P.M. on yesterday, April 8, 2020.
She indicated that the decision by the President to included Nimba County among the stay-home counties is because of the one confirmed case which has resulted into death thereby cumulating the total of four deaths, though she said much details was not available concerning the death.
According to the Health Minister the affected areas are the Sinkor, Airfield and Matadi belt recording seven cases, while Bardnesville, Brewerville, Du-port Road, and Mamba Point all recorded two cases each.
Dr. Jallah noted that GSA Road, Logan Town, New Georgia, Paynesville-Redlight, Rehab, West Point, ELWA and Via Town Communities recorded one case each, as Old Road alone recorded four cases.
She added that contacts tracing have already begun by her medical team in the various affected communities mentioned and reiterated that they will no longer make public the names of anyone affected or that may have died from the virus rather the affected communities will be disclosed.
Dr. Jallah said it has been observed that citizens who are said to be sick are not coming forth for checkups to know his/her status, instead they will stay at home until the situation gets worse, and stated that the early one submits for testing, the better chances there is to survive the virus.
She then urged the citizenry not to panic but should continue to abide by the measures put in place by health authorities as well as called on the various communities to help in reporting anyone showing signs and symptoms of the virus by dialing their emergency number (4455).
Prior to the country accumulating 31 confirmed cases, three days ago, the country recorded at least 14 cases and announced that eight were active or alive cases, three deaths, three recoveries and 10 were suspected while at the same time 661 contacts were made with 353 tested negative and 308 were awaiting to complete their 14 days of quarantine.
