The Minister of Information, Jerolinmek Piah, has announced that the government will officially launch its Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) during a contract signing ceremony on December 11, 2024.
Speaking at the MICAT regular press briefing, Minister Piah emphasized that the PMCS is designed to enhance government efficiency by setting clear performance targets, monitoring progress, and holding public institutions accountable.
“This system will provide ministries, agencies, and commissions with a structured framework to track their contributions to Liberia’s national development priorities,” Piah stated.
The PMCS aims to improve service delivery, promote transparency, and fulfill the aspirations of the Liberian people.
According to Piah, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to building a research-driven and results-oriented public sector aligned with national development priorities.
President Boakai will preside over the signing ceremony, with all public officials, particularly cabinet members, signing performance contracts; heads of ministries, agencies, and commissions will also sign a legally mandated Code of Conduct and Civil Society Organizations, development partners, and citizens have also been invited to the event, which Piah described as a “milestone in Liberia’s governance transformation.”
