A resident of Kabah community, Michael Winker has been sent to the Monrovia City Court for allegedly murdering his friend, Uriah Solo on July 19, 2022.
Defendant Winker’s crime is in violation of Chapter 14 section 14.1 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
According to police reports, the defendant was arrested, informed of his constitutional rights, investigated and subsequently charged with the crime of Murder, for purposely, knowingly, and intentionally without regards to human life.
During Police investigation conducted at the crime scene against person unit, details inquiry and information revealed that on Tuesday July 19 2022, victim Uriah Solo Michael Winker and Obediah Zayzay were engaged in a tussle over the issue of Obediah Zayzay’s delay to sew victim Uriah’s clothes.
Investigation further established that the tussle between Suspect Obediah Zayzay intensified to the extent that both of them armed themselves with deadly weapons to fight with.
The police investigation further established that during the fight, suspect Michael Winker sustained wound in his right palm with an instrument believed to be a knife during the early morning hours of July 19, 2022.
It was also revealed that when Justina Toe left and went into her house for the alcohol to rub same on suspect Michael Winter’s wound, she came and did not see victim Uriah Solo and suspect Obediah Zayzay on the scene but later heard that victim Uriah Solo has been stabbed in the community.
Furthermore, the investigation uncovered that victim Uriah Solo, suspects Michael Winker and Obediah Zayzay who is at large all live in an abandoned building owned by Obediah Zayzay’s family members.
Investigation also unearthed that after victim Uriah Solo was being stabbed in the community by suspects Obediah Zayzay and Michael Winker; angry crowd pursued them and were able to apprehend suspect Michael Winker and took him to Zone Four Depot while Obediah Zayzay fled the scene.
