2024 Taekwondo Championship Kickoff

The 2024 Liberia Taekwondo Federation National Championship has officially kickoff at the master Russian Martial Arts and Fitness Center in Paynesville City.
The program started Thursday Morning, August 22, 2024 with fourteen clubs featuring many participants predominantly young athletes.
In a conversation with the President of the Liberia Taekwondo Federation, Master Russian expressed gladness to different schools in the country for desiring interest in martial arts and maintaining their various clubs to participate in the ongoing competition.
According to him, it is the dream of the Taekwondo Federation to develop young athletes that will be potentially fit in the next couple of years to represent the country at different international championships as it is being done in other places across the African continent.
Master Russian said, the martial game is a fitness program that holds several opportunities for young men and women to identify their skills and strength and as well as use them in marking impact to the world and country positively than going way walked.
He explained that the federation is committed to pushing the games of the young athletes to have them adequately prepare to participate and secure medals in future editions of competitions like, the All-African Games, International Taekwondo Competitions and most importantly, the Olympic Games.
He revealed that the federation has gone over ten years working to improve itself and activities but the biggest problem it is faced with is the issue of finance for its programs and activities.
The former Liberian athlete maintained that their competition that just started is now overdue because there we need to source some fundings for the last All African Games and other activities.
According to Russian, the competition will have performing athletes at the climax receiving medals in three categories namely: Gold, Bronze and Silver along with certificates.
He called on the government, and other partners to support the process as an alternative of initiating programs that will bring recreation for hundreds of young people that have interest in the game.
